In 1917 he entered the First State Free Art Workshops, but three years later, in 1920, he left for Berlin, escaping the revolution. In 1922 he joined the artistic community "Spindle". In 1924 he traveled to Italy, where he painted many paintings. Then he settled in Paris. In the 1920s he worked mainly in the field of book graphics. He illustrated and designed books for the Parisian publishing house La Pleiade. In October 1924, Gluckman had his first solo exhibition at the Druet Gallery in Paris. Since 1925, Gluckman showed his works in the Parisian Salons - the Salon des Tuileries, the Salon d'Automne, the Salon of Independent Artists and at exhibitions of the National Society of Fine Arts. In the 1930s he turned to easel painting. Gluckman's main themes were Parisian street scenes filled with people, sensual nude figures, and Parisian nightlife. He painted portraits, scenes from city life and landscapes.
