Monumentalist, painter. He studied at the Moscow Secondary Art School (1940-1944) with V. V. Pochitalov and P. T. Koshevoy. In 1953 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, faculty of monumental painting in the workshop of G. I. Rublev. The diploma work was the painting of the ceiling “Harvest Festival”, carried out in the Kharkov air terminal building. Since 1956 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The author of many monumental paintings, including the frieze of the interior of the airport terminal in Lvov on the theme “Livestock” (1955, fresco), the ceiling of the Kharkov airport terminal (1954) and the painting of the ceiling of the Moscow Hippodrome on the theme “Equestrian Festival” (1955), paintings in the pavilions at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements “Yakutia”, “Mordovia”, “Volga Region” (1957), panels for the international industrial exhibition in Prague (1959). In 1957 he began participating in art exhibitions with easel paintings and landscapes. The works of E.I. Golikhin are exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery and in many regional museums.
