In 1940 he entered the Art School in Simferopol, and at the same time worked as an assistant to a decorative artist at the Russian Drama Theater. He worked in the easel painting industry. Since 1962 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Participant of regional and republican exhibitions. Personal exhibitions were also held at the Exhibition Hall of the Union of Artists of Ukraine in Simferopol in 1983, 1993, 2003, 2007 and 2010. In the 1970s was invited to Moscow, where three of his personal exhibitions were held, where Grachev met E. Neizvestny, I. Kabakov, O. Tselkov and other representatives of the Moscow avant-garde. In the 1970s, three personal exhibitions were organized in Moscow. The artist’s paintings are presented in the Sevastopol Art Museum, the Feodosia Art Gallery, and in private collections in Russia, Germany, Israel, Canada, the USA, etc.
