On February 23, 1864, Nikolai Karlovich Grandkovsky was born in Saratov, a Russian artist whose work was largely secondary and imitative in nature. On the recommendation of Saratov artists D.N. Rossova and M.I. Dolivo-Dobrovolsky he studied at the Moscow School of Russian Artist. Author of landscapes and genre scenes. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture from 1880 to 1888. Member of TPHV. Until 1897, the artist lived in Moscow. After 1897 and until his death, he lived in Penza and taught at the Penza Art School and the Penza Theological Seminary. His works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, as well as in regional museums.
