Grigoriev Vasily Ivanovich

Grigoriev Vasily Ivanovich (1895, Batumi -1982, Moscow).

He attended Sukharevsky evening self-education courses and Sunday drawing classes at the Stroganov School, where he completed a drawing course in four years. Studied at VKHUTEMAS, in the workshops of I.I. Mashkova and S.V. Gerasimova (1923-1929). Since 1924, he worked as an artist in various institutions under one-time contracts. Since 1942, he worked as head of the art and design sector at the Museum of the Revolution. Since 1946 he worked as an artist at the Museum of the Revolution. Works by V.I. Grigoriev were exhibited at domestic and foreign exhibitions. Many works are in Russian museums, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of the Revolution, as well as in museums and private collections abroad.
