Marine painter. He also worked as a landscape painter, is the author of architectural landscapes, views of seaports, and reproduced images of ships of the Russian navy. Born in Kuznetsk, Penza province, Russia. He graduated from the Kronstadt Naval School and sailed for some time on naval military vessels. In 1885 he entered the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts as a volunteer student. He studied with L. Lagorio, and over time, to improve his education, he was sent to Paris, where he studied in the workshop of A. Bogolyubov and at the Academy of F. Cormon. In 1890 - 1891 he accompanied Tsarevich Nikolai Alexandrovich during his trip to the East on the frigate “Memory of Azov”. In 1894 he became an artist for the Russian Maritime Ministry. Since 1886, he took an active part in exhibitions of the Academy of Arts and various associations of Russian artists (TPHV, MTLI, T-va of Russian watercolorists, etc.) Personal exhibitions were held in Paris (1896) and Moscow (1902, posthumous). The works are stored in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Art Museum of Saratov, Omsk, Perm, Dnepropetrovsk, Lvov, Tashkent, etc.
