Guerra Tonino (1920, Santarcangelo di Romagna (Italy) - 2012, ibid.)

Italian artist, poet, writer, screenwriter and film director. Winner of the Cannes International Film Festival of the Year Award for best screenplay for the film “Journey to Cythera” (1984). He was nominated three times for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Graduated from the Faculty of Education of the University of Urbino. From a young age he was interested in painting and worked in various techniques. Since 1953, Tonino Guerra wrote scripts for films that were included in the golden fund of classics of world cinema. Author of scripts for more than a hundred films. He worked with directors Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Andrei Tarkovsky, Giuseppe De Santis, Mauro Bolognini, Damiano Damiani, Mario Monicelli. For Michelangelo Antonioni, Tonino wrote “Adventure”, “Night”, “Eclipse”, “Red Desert”, “Blow-Up”, “Zabriskie Point”, “The Mystery of Oberwald”, “Identification of a Woman”.
