Russian artist. Dmitry Gutov was born on December 10, 1960 in Moscow. In 1992 he graduated from the department of theory and history of art at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I. E. Repina (St. Petersburg). The thesis was dedicated to Malevich and Florensky. He began exhibiting in 1988. He took part in more than 80 exhibitions around the world. Among them: the 1995 Venice Biennale, the 1992 Istanbul Biennale, the 1996 Manifesta in Rotterdam, the 2002 Sao Paulo Biennale, etc. In 1994 he organized the Mikhail Lifshitz Institute in Moscow. Since its founding (1993) he has been a member of the editorial board of the Art Magazine.
