Johann Baptist Lampi the Elder

Johann Baptist Lampi the Elder (1751, South Tyrol-1830, Vienna).

Italian by nationality. He received his professional art education in Salzburg. He worked in Verona and Triente (wrote altar paintings) in 1792-97. - in St. Petersburg. Author of court and chamber portraits, as well as paintings on religious, mythological and allegorical subjects. The works are kept in art collections in Vienna, Salzburg, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Moscow, St. Petersburg.
