Johann Wilhelm Nahl

German painter and engraver. He worked as a portrait painter and in the genre of historical painting. Student and son of the painter Johann August Nahl (1752-1825). He also studied with the Kassel portrait painter Sebastian Weygandt. In 1823-1825 continued his studies at the Royal School of Fine Arts in Paris and was influenced by French painting, in particular Horace Vernet. Lived in Kassel, worked for Elector Wilhelm II.
