Kalinkin Georgy Alekseevich

Kalinkin Georgy Alekseevich (1915 – 1983).

Painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1931-1936 he studied at the Astrakhan Art College. In 1936 he entered the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the All-Russian Academy of Arts. At the same time, from 1945 to 1956, he worked in the studio of military artists named after M. Grekov. In 1947-1953 he taught at the Leningrad Secondary Art School. He has participated in exhibitions since 1947, exhibiting his works along with works by leading masters of fine art in Leningrad. He painted historical, battle and genre paintings, portraits, landscapes. The artist's works are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
