Kapitanova (Arapova) Yulia Grigorievna (1889 - 1976).

She began painting classes under the guidance of her husband, artist A.A. Arapov. She studied in Moscow at Vkhutemas with P.P. Konchalovsky and A.A. Osmerkin. From 1926 to 1940 she lived in Leningrad. In 1929–1930, she became a member of the “Workshop of Analytical Art” (MAI) team, which she led. P. N. Filonov. She also worked in theaters in Leningrad and Moscow, helping Arapov in the design of performances.
