Kaplan Fanya Maksovna

Soviet artist. In the 30s and 40s of the last century, she studied in Kharkov: first at the art college, then at the art Institute, her teacher was Semyon Prokhorov— a student of Ilya Repin. She continued her education at the V. I. Surikov Moscow Art Institute under A. A. Osmerkin. In 1948, she participated in the exhibition of theses of the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov. She joined the MOSH in 1948. In 1959, she made a creative trip to Bulgaria and Romania, in 1969 to Yugoslavia, in 1977 to France, and in 1989 to Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice).She repeatedly participated in the Moscow Spring exhibitions of Soviet artists, in the Third Republican Art Exhibition, Moscow (1961), in a group exhibition in London in 1964; in All-Union art exhibitions, including "The USSR is our Homeland" in 1982. The works of Fani Maksovna Kaplan are kept in the collections of the National Art Museum of Moldova, the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Dagestan Museum of Fine Arts named after P.S. Gamzatova, the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia, the Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan, the Kiev National Museum of Russian Art, the National Art Museum of the Republic of Sakha, the Museum of Fine Arts in Arkhangelsk, the Bryansk Regional Art Museum-the exhibition center, the Volgograd Museum of Fine Arts named after I. I. The Kirov Regional Art Museum named after V. M. and A.M. Vasnetsov, the Krasnoyarsk State Art Museum named after V. I. Surikov, the Penza Regional Art Gallery named after K.A. Savitsky, and other museums and collections.
