Irina Karaseva studied modern mosaic techniques in Montreal (Canada). Her work is distinguished by a subtle sense of color, simplicity and originality of compositions. A peculiar mixture of materials of different textures, emphasizing the features of the depicted details, makes the paintings “tangible”, and thereby enhances the emotional impression of the work. One work can use gold mosaic and Swarovski crystals alongside ceramics, glass and pebbles, and the number of types of materials used in a small work can reach a dozen. A characteristic feature of the artistic mosaic works presented at the exhibition - landscapes, portraits, subject miniatures - is their strong emotional component. The paintings succeed in accurately conveying both the plot atmosphere and the emotional perception of its author, which makes the presented works similar to the paintings of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists in painting.
