Soviet painter, graphic artist. Member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists. He studied in Saratov in the icon-painting workshop (1895), in the workshop of the artist F. M. Korneev (1896), at the Penza Art School named after. N.D. Seliverstova at K.A. Savitsky (1898-1901). Since 1907, he has been a participant in exhibitions, including exhibitions of the associations “Golden Fleece”, “World of Arts”, “Four Arts”, as well as the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists. After the October Revolution, he was engaged in pedagogical work and the reorganization of art education. In 1918 he was appointed commissar of the PGSKhUM in Petrograd, and worked in the Art Department of the People's Commissariat of Education of the RSFSR. The artist's works are in the State Russian Museum and other museums in Russia, as well as in private collections.
