Karpov Vadim Petrovich

Karpov Vadim Petrovich (1931 – 2014).

Painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. A native of the village of Volche-Vrag, Penza, he graduated from the Kostroma Art School in 1959, a student of N.P. Shleina. Lives and works in Kostroma. Military-patriotic themes were one of the main ones in the work of Vadim Karpov. Vadim Karpov is also a subtle portrait painter. His heroes are simple Kostroma residents, mechanics, carpenters, collective farmers, and fellow artists. Participant of numerous exhibitions. The works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and many regional museums in Russia.
