Kazantsev Anatoly Alekseevich (1908 - 1984)

Soviet painter, graphic artist, monumentalist and teacher, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. In 1928-1929 he studied in Moscow at the courses of the Academy of Arts of Russia under I.I. Mashkov, in 1931-1938 in Leningrad at the Institute of Applied Physics and Architecture of the All-Union Academy of Arts under K.F. Yuon, R.R. Frents. Since 1929 - participant in city, all-Union and international exhibitions. During the Great Patriotic War he remained in Leningrad, creating posters for "Boyevoy Karandash" and "TASS Windows". From 1949 to 1984 he taught at the Leningrad Higher Art and Industrial School named after V. I. Mukhina, professor (since 1965) and head of the monumental painting workshop. The author's works are in the collection of the State Russian Museum and in many regional museums of Russia, as well as in private collections.
