Kibrik Evgeniy Adolfovich (1906, Voznesensk - 1978, Moscow).

People's Artist of the USSR (1967), full member of the Leningrad Artists of the USSR (1962). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1948). In 1922-1925. studied in Odessa at the Institute of Fine Arts under P.G. Volokidin and T.B. Fraerman, then at the Academy of Arts (1925-1927) in Leningrad. In 1927-1930 was one of the most active members of the “Masters of Analytical Art” (MAI) association created by P.N. Filonov. Since 1953 he taught at the Moscow Art Institute. V. I. Surikova (professor since 1954). The most significant graphic cycles of Kibrik include a series of romantic illustrations for Cola Brugnon by R. Rolland (1934-1936), The Legend of Ulenspiegel by S. de Coster (1937-1938), Taras Bulba by N.V. Gogol (1943-1945) and Russian Heroic epics (1948-1950). The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and in many other museum collections in Russia.
