Киселев А.А.

Kiselev Alexander Alekseevich (1855, Moscow province - 1911).

He studied at the icon-painting workshop of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra (1870s), then at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (late 1879-1882), at the Academy of Arts (1882-1885) with P.P. Chistyakov in the historical painting workshop. Winner of a large gold medal. Pensioner of the Academy of Arts in Italy, visited Paris, Berlin, Cologne. Since 1890 Academician of historical painting. Member of the Abramtsevo art circle, worked in a ceramic workshop, painted landscapes of Abramtsevo. In 1899, he traveled around the Middle East with V.D. Polenov. Participated in exhibitions of the Peredvizhniki. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and other museum collections.
