St. Petersburg artist. Elena Andreevna painted portraits and genre paintings. She studied at the Voronezh drawing school under L.G. Solovyova and graduated from the Voronezh Mariinsky Gymnasium. In 1896 she entered the Faculty of Mathematics of the Bestuzhev Courses in St. Petersburg, and in 1898 she entered the Academy of Arts (AH). Since 1900 she studied in the workshop of I.E. Repin. She was a participant in exhibitions of the New Society and the Union of Russian Artists, International in Munich and Rome. She was the first of the Russian female students of the Academy to receive a pension abroad. It is from this time that the work presented at the auction belongs, bearing the stamp of the author’s passion for Art Nouveau stylistics. In the mid-1960s, Voronezh art critics became interested in the artist, and in 1969 an exhibition of 50 works was held in Voronezh, dedicated to Kiseleva’s 90th birthday. The art museum acquired a number of works from private collections and organized a separate hall where about 30 works by the artist were exhibited.
