Born in the south of Russia. He received his artistic education at the Odessa Drawing School from K.K. Kostandi. He took part in exhibitions at the TYURH (1891, 1902). Later, the artist himself taught at the Odessa Drawing School and is mentioned as the teacher of the artist A. Novakovsky. It is known that he took part as an exhibitor at the TYURH exhibitions in 1881 and in the spring exhibition of 1902. Almost all of his works are dedicated to Black Sea species. These are seascapes and images of ships. He worked mainly in watercolor technique. Many works were reproduced on postcards in St. Petersburg and Stockholm by the publishing house of P. Heckscher and the Grenberg joint-stock company. The artist's works are very rarely found on the antique market and are of great value for museum and private collections.
