Klyukin Oleg Pavlovich

Klyukin Oleg Pavlovich (1929 – 2002).

Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR for services in the field of fine arts. Born in the village of Vasilevo (Chkalovsk), Nizhny Novgorod province. In 1946 he entered the Yaroslavl Art School. In 1949 he transferred to the Gorky Art School, which he graduated in 1951. From the same year he began to participate in art exhibitions. From 1952 to 1965 he lived and worked in Grozny. In 1957, as part of the delegation of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, he took part in the World Youth Festival in Moscow. In 1960 he was accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1965 he transferred to the Moscow branch of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR and moved to live in Noginsk. The last years of O.P.’s life Klyukin lived and worked beyond the Volga in the vicinity of the ancient Russian city of Gorodets, where he created a number of paintings on a peasant theme, numerous landscapes and still lifes.
