Koltsov Alexey Yakovlevich (1912-1990).

Famous Soviet painter, sculptor, marine painter, landscape painter. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR. Graduated from the Academy of Arts in Leningrad. He studied at the All-Russian Academy of Arts at the Faculty of Architecture with the famous architect L. V. Rudnev. Throughout the war years he served in the Northern Fleet. He created a series of paintings about the North Sea residents: “Boris Safonov”, “Polar”, “Reconnaissance Pshenichnykh”, “Submariner Augustinovich”, “Sentrymen”, “Minus Forty”, “The Feat of Ivan Sivko” and others. He drew cartoons for the satirical posters “Battering Ram” and “Windows of the Polar Truth.” Alexey Koltsov is the author of the monument to F. Vidyayev in the city of Polyarny. After the war - Chairman of the commission of marine painters of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. He participated in many all-Union exhibitions, the painting “Nakhimovtsy” was exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery, Koltsov’s works were exhibited in London at the “Liberation of Europe” exhibition. Known for his landscapes on overseas business trips to China and Singapore. The works of A. Ya. Koltsov are in many regional museums and private collections.
