Konovalova Alexandra Sergeevna (1883, Moscow-1969, Moscow).

Graphic artist, Russian Art Nouveau artist. Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under M. Vrubel, I. Nivinsky, A. Shekhtel. After graduation, he actively participates, together with his friends P. Kuznetsov and N. Sapunov, in exhibitions held by the Blue Rose association of symbolists. The artist’s watercolors are dedicated to fairy-tale and mythological themes, a poetic view of nature and people. She was evicted to Chukotka in the 30s, where, according to the call of the time, she worked in a realistic manner, the themes of the works became earthly, concrete. She was one of the first in painting to turn to the culture of the peoples of the Far North.
