Korzukhin Aleksey Ivanovich (1835, Perm province - 1894, St. Petersburg)

Russian genre painter, participant in the "revolt of the fourteen", one of the founders of the St. Petersburg Artel of Artists and the Society of Traveling Art Exhibitions. Academician (since 1868), full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts (since 1893). In 1858 he entered the Imperial Academy of Arts, where he successfully studied in the class of historical painting. In 1861 he received a small gold medal from the Academy for the painting "Drunken Father of the Family". In 1864 - 1871 he taught at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists. In 1865, the Academy awarded him the title of artist of the 1st degree for his painting "Funeral Service at the Village Cemetery", and in 1868, for "The Return of the Father of the Family from the Fair", he was recognized as an academician. Korzukhin's works are in the largest museum collections of Russian art, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Perm State Art Gallery, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
