Kostetsky Vladimir Nikolaevich (1905 – 1968)

Soviet painter, People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960), corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1967). He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute in 1928 with Fyodor Grigorievich Krichevsky, taught there since 1937, professor since 1947. During the Great Patriotic War he painted posters, leaflets, and portrait drawings. Kostetsky’s works are in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum of T. Shevchenko, the NAOMA Museum (Kyiv), the Simferopol Art Museum, the author’s copy of the work “Return” is in the State Tretyakov Gallery.
