Kotik Boris Vasilyevich

Soviet painter, combat soldier, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1953. In 1937-1941, he studied at the Leningrad Secondary Art School, and after demobilization from the army at the end of August 1946, he entered the painting faculty of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin, where he studied with Mikhail Platunov, Ivan Stepashkin, Peter Belousov and Yuri Nepintsev. In 1953, he graduated from the institute in the workshop of Professor Rudolf Frentz with the qualification of an artist of painting. He participated in exhibitions since 1953, exhibiting his works together with the works of the leading masters of fine art of Leningrad. Among the exhibitions are the Autumn Exhibition of works by Leningrad artists (1956), the exhibition "1917-1957. Exhibition of works by Leningrad artists" (1957), Soviet Russia — Republican Art Exhibition (1960, Moscow), zonal exhibition "Leningrad" (1964), the Second Republican Art Exhibition "Soviet Russia" (1965, Moscow) and others. Boris Vasilyevich Kotik's works are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad, including collections dedicated to Soviet-era art and military subjects.
