Кравченко А.И.

Kravchenko Alexey Ilyich (1889, Saratov province -1940, Moscow).

Studied at MUZHVZ with A.E. Arkhipova, K.A. Korovina, S.V. Ivanova, V.A. Serov, in the studio of S. Holloshi in Munich (1906-1907). Painter, draftsman, engraver. Participant in exhibitions since 1906. He was an art correspondent on the fronts of the First World War (1914-1917). He was a member of the MTH associations (since 1913), the “4 Arts” society (since 1915). In 1918-1921 lived in Saratov, headed the Saratov Faculty of Art Workshops. Since 1921 he lived in Moscow. In 1925 he was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris. He taught at Moscow State Art Institute (1935-1940). The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in many private collections in Russia and abroad.
