In 1952 entered the Leningrad Art School. Upon graduation, he worked as an art teacher in the Karelian Republic, and as an artist at Lennauchfilm. He was sent to Poland as an artist of the Northern Group of Forces of the USSR, where he created a number of city landscapes and portraits. He visited creative expeditions in the Far North and Kamchatka three times. Member of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He took part in city and regional exhibitions.
