Kron Christian Cornelius (1882-1959) (also known as Xan Kron, Exan Kron) Painter, portraitist and landscape painter. He worked mainly as a portrait and landscape painter, one of the members of the “Jack of Diamonds” society. Born on June 15, 1882 in Bergen, died in Oslo on October 30, 1959. From 1905 to 1917 he lived in Russia. Studied at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg with I.E. Repin (1905-1906); at the Holloschi School in Munich (1906); in 1907 - in Paris at the La Palette Academy; as well as the Academie Vitte and Academie Colarossi. Continued his studies in Italy. In 1907, Kron married a Russian of Swedish origin, Julia Holmberg from Kursk. Julia was part of the circle of Russian artists in Paris, which greatly contributed to the strengthening of Kron’s connections in the circles of the Russian avant-garde. In 1909, Kron exhibited at two exhibitions in Odessa, the World of Art and the Izdebsky Salon. In 1910-11 participated in "Salon 2". 1911 – first solo exhibition in Blomkvist (Oslo). 1912 – the first personal exhibition in Russia (Kyiv). In 1914 he participated in the “Ring” exhibition in Kyiv, organized by A. Bogomazov and A. Exter. In 1915 moves to Moscow, where he paints portraits of S.I. Shchukin. 1916 – participated in the exhibition of the Moscow Association of Artists. Participant of the exhibitions “Jack of Diamonds” 1912. , 1916 and 1917 Author of frescoes for the Geographical Museum in Tiflis (1913-1915). In 1917 he left for Norway. In the 1920s he became interested in African art. In the 1920s he participated in a joint exhibition with Munch in Riga.
