Kruglikova Elizaveta Sergeevna (1865, St. Petersburg - 1941, Leningrad).

Russian artist, master of engraving and silhouette. Since 1890, she attended the Academy of Arts as a volunteer student. Since 1895 she lived in Paris. Visited the studios of A. Vitti and F. Colarossi. She was interested in various print engraving techniques. She organized her own studio school, where M.A. studied. Voloshin, M.A. Dobrov, I.S. Efimov, N.Ya. Simonovich-Efimova and others. Since 1916 she lived and worked in Petrograd. She was a professor at the etching department (and then head of the etching room) at the Higher Art and Technical Institute (VKHUTEIN). She was an active participant in the World of Art and the Union of Russian Artists exhibitions. She became famous for her silhouettes cut out of black paper. These works revived the idea of ​​silhouette as a full-fledged art form. She worked as a set designer, was one of the organizers (1919), and also a designer of the State Puppet Theater. Personal exhibitions of E.S. Kruglikova were held in Paris (1902, 1905, 1907), in St. Petersburg (1913), in Kazan (1925), in Leningrad (1934 (Russian Russian Museum), 1940, 1962, 1967 (Russian Russian Museum)), in Moscow (1945, 1962). The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin, in large regional museums, in private collections in Russia and abroad.
