Kryzhitsky Konstantin Yakovlevich (1858 - 1911)

Russian landscape painter, academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts (since 1889), full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts (since 1900). He received a general education at the Kiev Real College, attended the N. I. Murashko drawing school in 1875-1876, entered the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg in 1877, where he studied in the landscape class with Professor Baron M. K. Klodt and graduated from the academic course in 1884 with the title of class artist of the first degree. He participated in academic exhibitions from 1879 to 1911, from 1891 he was an exhibitor at the Traveling Art Exhibitions Association, and exhibited watercolors at exhibitions of the Society of Russian Watercolorists from 1890 to 1911. His works were presented at the World's Fair in Paris (1900), the International Art Exhibition in Munich (1909, where he received a gold medal), the All-Russian Art and Industrial Exhibition in Moscow (1882) and the All-Russian Industrial and Agricultural Exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod (1896). In 1911, memorial exhibitions of the artist were held in St. Petersburg and in 1913 in Moscow. Kryzhitsky's works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Scientific Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, as well as in private collections.
