Kuchumov Vasily Nikitich (1888-1959).

Historical painter, landscape painter, theater artist, master of the interior genre. He studied at the Higher Art School at the Academy of Arts (1910-1916), wrote his diploma work “Peter I examining the statue of Venus in the Summer Palace.” In 1911 he received the second prize from the Academy of Arts for the sketch “The Head of John the Baptist is Brought to Salome.” He was influenced by the artists of the World of Art. He took part in the annual exhibitions of the “Association of Independents” (1911-1914), the artistic and psychological group “Triangle” (1908), the Society named after. A.I. Kuindzhi (1926-1929). The artist’s works are in the State Russian Museum, in the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum and many regional museums.
