Khalip Yakov Nikolaevich (1908 - 1980)

An outstanding master of Soviet photography, a famous photographer and photo artist, a student of Alexander Rodchenko. Graduated from VGIK with a degree in operator. In 1938, he participated in the evacuation of I. D. Papanin’s expedition from the drifting station “North Pole”, and created a series of photo essays. In 1938 - 1941, leading photo reporter of the magazine “USSR on Construction”, executive editor of the magazine “Soviet Photo”. In 1941 - 1945 he was a correspondent for the newspaper "Red Star", Sovinformburo. In 1946 - 1954 he worked for the magazines Ogonyok and Smena, from 1954 for the magazine Soviet Union, and collaborated in the newspapers Pravda and Izvestia. Works by Khalip Y.N. presented in the collection of the Multimedia Art Museum and many other museums and photo galleries in Russia and abroad.
