Khegai Ilya Nikolaevich

In 1948 he entered the Alma-Ata Theater and Art School. Since 1950 he has been studying in an art studio under the direction of Eifert Vladimir Aleksandrovich in Karaganda. From 1956 to 1960, Khegai became the head of this studio. From 1952 to 1969 he took an active part in city and republican exhibitions in Almaty, in the international exhibition of artists of Kazakhstan in Poland. A number of paintings were awarded diplomas of Republican significance of the Kazakh SSR. Since 1967, member of the USSR Union of Artists. Fruitful creative activity allowed the artist to become a participant in the exhibition “Earth and People” at VDNKh in Moscow in 1972, as well as in 1975 at the Republican exhibition of artists of Moldova in the city of Chisinau. Since 1979, Ilya Nikolaevich has lived and worked in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region. The artist’s paintings are in the main collections of museums in Kazakhstan, the Belgorod Art Museum, the Stary Oskol Art Museum, as well as in private collections.
