Хныгин Л.А.

Khnygin Lazar Alekseevich (1882, Nizhny Novgorod province - 1969).

Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1957). He studied at the Kazan Art School (1909-1913) and the Imperial Academy of Arts (1913-1918). Lived and worked in Nizhny Novgorod. Participant of all-Union, republican and zonal art exhibitions since 1908. In 1928-1929. exhibited with AHRR. Personal exhibitions were held in Nizhny Novgorod (1925, 1952, 1957, 1962, 1982). In the 1920s. taught at the Nizhny Novgorod Art and Industrial College. Chairman of the Board of the Gorky Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (1945-1948). The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, many regional museums, as well as in private collections.
