Soviet sculptor, master of decorative and applied arts, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1928, she graduated from the institute and moved to Moscow, where she worked in a ceramic workshop at the State Porcelain Museum. In 1934-1957 (with a break in 1941-1948) she worked at the Faience Factory named after. M.I. Kalinin in Konakovo. She also worked at sculpture factory No. 1 in Potykha and at the Gzhel ceramic factory. Maria Kholodnaya was a regular participant in domestic and foreign exhibitions (in Paris, Brussels, Vienna, Helsinki). In 1953, a personal exhibition of Kholodnaya was organized at the Moscow Union of Artists together with S.V. Ilyinskaya. Her works are in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Ceramics in Kuskovo; as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
