Soviet artist, graphic artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He graduated from the Moscow Art School in Memory of 1905 (1941), where he studied with P. I. Petrovichev and V. N. Baksheev. During the Second World War he worked in the studio of military artists named after M. B. Grekov. In 1943, he presented in Moscow a large series of graphic works created on the Western Front. Khrapak’s drawings were published in magazines: “Ogonyok”, “Smena” and others. He is the author of such famous posters as “Let's get to Berlin”, paintings “Victory”, “Mother”, the memorial to the “Warrior Liberator” in Treptower Park (Berlin) and many other works. In 1946, Georgy Khrapak joined the Moscow Union of Artists. He painted sketches and landscapes of Moscow and the Moscow region, Leningrad, Bukhara, Voronezh, Crimea, Sweden, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Karelia, Baku. In the 1960-1980s, books with reproductions of his paintings were published; in 2006, a color monograph album by Georgy Khrapak was published. The artist’s works are included in the exhibitions of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of History and Reconstruction of Moscow, and the Museum of the Soviet Army.
