Chromolithography by M. A. Morozov

A Moscow publishing house that specialized in color printing. It made a significant contribution to the development of graphic art and the mass dissemination of visual culture in Russia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Chromolithography as a technique of color printing was based on the lithographic method and was distinguished by the use of a separate printing plate for each color — sometimes up to 20 or more plates were required, which ensured high accuracy of color reproduction and image detail, and also allowed for the reproduction of colorful works for a wide audience. The enterprise of M. A. Morozov produced a variety of graphic works: popular prints with scenes from life, fairy tales and historical events, posters and billboards, illustrations, reproductions and satirical sheets on current topics.
