Studied with N.E. Radlova. For a long time he was friends with the family of K. Malevich, preserved part of his archive, and is a continuer of the traditions of his art. In April 1989 and May 1990. At Sothbey's auctions in London, four works by Lev Lapin were sold. The works are in the State Russian Museum and were exhibited in 2000 at the exhibition “Melevich Circle”. It is also in the collection of N. and N. Lobanov - Rostov, Gmurzhinskaya Gallery and many foreign collections.
