Graduated from the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, Leningrad Higher Art and Industrial School named after. V.I. Mukhina (St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Industry). Member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Works are presented in the collections of the State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, the Museum of History of St. Petersburg, the Foundation for Contemporary Art, Manege, St. Petersburg, the Art Gallery of Armenia, the Foundation of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Beethoven Museum, Bonn, Germany, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad. Levon Lazarev is the author of numerous monuments erected in St. Petersburg (D. Quarenghi; Monument to firefighters who died during the Great Patriotic War; memorial plaques of Louis Pasteur, S. Diaghilev, F. Chaliapin, E. Mravinsky). The latest significant works are monuments to A. Sakharov, J. S. Bach in St. Petersburg, S. Diaghilev in Paris. However, his art - piercingly sincere, expressive, convincing - allows us to perceive Lazarev as one of the most modern artists of St. Petersburg.
