Lebedev Klavdiy Vasilievich (1852 - 1916)

He studied at the Stroganov School and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture with V. G. Perov, E. S. Sorokin, V. E. Makovsky. Since 1890 he taught there. Member of the Society of Itinerants since 1891. Since 1897 - academician of painting, since 1906 - full member of the Academy of Arts. He was a professor of the life class at the Academy of Arts, teaching in 1894-1898. A genre painter, he wrote in the spirit of realism on themes of Russian history of the 16th-17th centuries. He left a great legacy in the form of historical canvases and drawings with scenes from the “domestic life” of boyar Rus'.
