He graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1907. He studied for some time at the Imperial Academy of Arts. He went to Paris, where he attended the Academy de la Grande Chaumiere, as well as the studio of A. Matisse (1910-1912). Participant of exhibitions since 1894. He was one of the founders of the association “Free Creativity”. Exhibited at exhibitions of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, associations, "World of Art", "Heat-Color", "Jack of Diamonds". He taught in his workshop in Moscow since 1913. He worked as a graphic artist and theater artist. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and many Moscow and regional museums. The painting put up for auction was exhibited at exhibitions in the State Tretyakov Gallery (1989); in KHR (Khimki, 1990).
