Litvinenko Valentin Gavrilovich (1908 - 1979)

Soviet artist, graphic artist, painter. People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1960). In 1929 - 1930 he studied at the art studio of Nikolai Samokish in Simferopol. In 1932 - 1934 he studied at the workers' faculty at the Kharkov Art Institute. In 1934, he became an artist and retoucher for the newspaper Komsomolets of Ukraine, where his cartoons were also published. In 1934 - 1935 he studied in the studio of I.F. Selezneva. In the 1930s he worked at Gosnatsmen Publishing House, Detizdat, and the Art Publishing House. Since 1941 - employee of the magazine "Peretz". During the Great Patriotic War, he painted satirical postcards, newspaper drawings, and posters. Since 1944 - participant of republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. The author's works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and other museums, as well as in private collections.
