Soviet illustrator, graphic artist, book artist. Member of the Moscow Union of Artists (since 1947), member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR (since 1961). He studied at the Academy of Arts in Tbilisi at the graphic faculty with E. E. Lanceray and O. A. Charlemagne (graduated with honors), then in graduate school at the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I.Surikov (1939-1941) with D.S.Moor and N.E.Radlov. He illustrated more than three hundred books, including “The Plane Flies”, “Transparent Elephant”, the collection “Baby’s Book”, “Two Captains”. He worked as an illustrator for the publishing houses of the magazines "Murzilka", "Malysh", "Soviet Writer", "Goslitizdat" and others. A. A. Lurie’s book graphics are distinguished not only by their magnificent drawing and composition, but also by the expressiveness of artistic images and characters, each of which has its own character.
