Lvov I.M.

Russian artist of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, genre painter, battle painter, animal painter, and illustrator. He did not have a systematic art education. He is known for his works on postcards from the early 20th century. He created genre scenes on the traditions and customs of the people of Little Russia (weddings, festivities, etc.), paintings and series of postcards on hunting themes (Hunting, Duck Hunting, Rest, etc.), as well as illustrations for the series of postcards "Memories of the War of 1812" (30 postcards, published by I. E. Sytin, 1912). Collaborated with publishing houses: I. E. Selin (Moscow), J. Ostrovsky and "Granberg" (Lodz, Warsaw), Olga Dyakova and Co (Berlin), as well as with the Stockholm publishing house. In 1912, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Patriotic War, the publishing house I.E. Sytin published a collection of thirty postcards from the series "Memories of the War of 1812," illustrated by I.M. Lvov. Some of the works are kept at the Military History Museum of Artillery, Engineering Troops, and Communications Troops.
