For 30 years, Petlyura collected, at his own expense, rare objects created in the country, as well as those brought to the former USSR in the 20th century. By the beginning of the 21st century, the collection consisted of about 2,000 pairs of shoes, 1,500 samples of men's and women's suits, about 1,000 pieces of men's and women's underwear, about 3,000 pieces of accessories, as well as 2,000 household items, etc., etc. Based on the collected collection, the artist created theatrical actions, performances, video and photo events. Over the past 10 years, items from his collection have participated in dozens of different exhibitions, both in our country and abroad, as well as in theatrical productions and films by domestic and foreign directors. Since the 80s, Alexander Petlyura has been the organizer and curator of the most spectacular non-profit festivals, helping aspiring artists, giving lectures, and participating free of charge in organizing and conducting non-profit projects.
