Lyubavin Yuri Mikhailovich

Painter. Born in 1923 in the city of Kharkov. He graduated from the art studio at the Kharkov factory of art products (1940 - 1950), studied with S. Besedin and L. Chernov. Author of still lifes, landscapes, genre works. Since 1957, participant of republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Since 1960 - member of the Kharkov organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1972, the newspaper “Soviet Culture”, in a review of the exhibition “Earth and People,” especially noted the group portrait of machine operators of the “Ukrainka” collective farm by the Kharkov artist Yu. Lyubavin. In 1976, the painter was awarded the medal “For Labor Distinction” for his contribution to the development of culture. For the canvases “Spring” (1965), “After Work” (1967), “In the Days of the Revolution” (1967), “Mechanizers” (1970) and “Portrait of a fitter at the Kharkov Tractor Plant Bondarenko” (1973) he was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize.
