Makhotin Yuri Andreevich (1930, village of Strashevichi, Zhiryatinsky District, Bryansk Region)

Soviet and Russian painter, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (since 1970) and Russia (since 1991), People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2006). Graduated from the Oryol Art School in 1951. In 1981, Yuri Makhotin was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Artist of the RSFSR". From 1972 to 1991, he made annual trips to the Academic Dacha House of Creativity. In 1997, Yuri Makhotin was included by the American Biographical Institute in the VIII edition of the international directory of outstanding and progressive people. In the same year, he became a laureate of the All-Russian A.M. Gritsai Prize. The author's works are presented in the collection of the Bryansk Regional Art Museum and Exhibition Center, the Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev Museum and other museum and private collections.
