Maksimov Alexey Fedotovich

Maksimov Alexey Fedotovich (1870, Vologda-1921, Petrograd).

The artist graduated from the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. During his studies (1893-1899) he received two silver medals from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1899, for the painting “Ivan the Terrible in Alexandrova Sloboda” he was awarded the title of artist. The painter demonstrated his works on historical subjects and everyday compositions at the exhibitions of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions. He also collaborated with magazines that were widely published in the country at the beginning of the 20th century.
